Trophy Snider Pattern Rifle

This is a breech loading Snider pattern rifle of approximately .575 Cal. The lock is marked 'L.A Co' and dated 1861. the rear of the lock is marked with a crown and V.R.

The Snider patent breech is marked 'H.Egg Picadilly London' and the stock is inlaid with a large brass disc marked 'Q.W.R.V No.17 Company First Prize won by Walter W Matthen's 1861'

It is complete less cleaning rod. Has brass trigger guard, fore-end and butt pad. Overall condition is good.
